Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other delights
FZ : Whipped Cream sold over 6 million copies in the US. The album cover is considered a classic. It featured model Dolores Erickson wearing only what appeared to be whipped cream. In reality, Erickson was wearing a white blanket over which were scattered artfully-placed daubs of shaving cream—real whipped cream would have melted under the heat of the studio lights (although the cream on her head is real whipped cream). In concerts, when about to play the song, Alpert would tell the audience, "Sorry, we can't play the cover for you."

Pulp - This is hardcore
FZ : In 1997 designer Peter Saville received a call from Jarvis Cocker. “They needed to reposition Pulp” he recalls, “They wanted to present Pulp more as a rock band. The music was a lot deeper, darker and moodier and they called it This Is Hardcore.”
The result was one of the most controversial album covers of the nineties. This was probably assured the moment they invited American painter John Currin to direct it. Currin is known for his technically skillful paintings, which typically depict the intensely sexualized female form with heavily pornographic overtones.

Ween - Chocolate & cheese
FZ : Ween originally wanted the cover to have a "gay sailor theme" but the studio thought it politically incorrect (possibly because of "The HIV Song" which is ironically cheery and upbeat), so they opted for the woman's body on the cover. The band say that they never got to meet the cover model, Ashley Savage. The album cover is also seen on the wall of a dorm room in Road Trip. Additionally, the cover pays homage to the 1982 Commodores' album cover "All the Great Hits".
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Hot Action Cop - Hot action Cop
Hurricane - Slave to the thrill
Sabrina - Sabrina
FZ : dit behoeft geen commentaar
Wendy & Lisa - Fruit at the bottom
Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other delights rewhipped
Wendy & Lisa - Fruit at the bottom
Sheila E - Sex Cymbal
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Hot Action Cop - Hot action Cop
Hurricane - Slave to the thrill
FZ Gewraakte hoes, no wonder
2 opmerkingen:
